White Balance

1. Describe the steps for adjusting the white balance on a camcorder or digital film camera. Locate the white balance setting on the camera and select the manual or custom WB option. Have the subject or an assistant aim a white card or sheet of paper at the camera. Zoom in on the card or sheet of paper to fill 80%-100% of the frame with white. Be sure your exposure and focus settings are properly set. Press and hold the Set button until the camera confirms that white balance has been acquired. 2. Focus

A videographer should avoid using autofocus because it might not focus on the correct subject and if the subject in the frame is moving, then the videographer will have to readjust the focus. Autofocus is acceptable when the lighting is good, the subject-camera distance is stable, and when there is little to no movement in the frame. What are the 4 steps to properly set your focus manually when shooting a static subject? Compose the shot. Make sure the camera is set to Manual Focus mode. Zoom in as far as possible on the subject's eyes. Adjust the focus control until the eyes are sharply in focus. Zoom back out to compose the shot. Rack focus is a popular technique that shooters use to rapidly shift the viewer's attention from one subject to another subject along the z-axis.

White Balance

When White Balancing a camera, the image sensors must be calibrated to the color temperature of the light source it is exposed to in order to accurately capture the color of objects within the field of view. The golden hour is a period shortly after sunrise or before sunset during which daylight is redder and softer than when the Sun is higher in the sky. Daylight has the color temperature of 5500 K and its general hue is blue. Fluorescent light has a color temperature between 3,400 K and 4,800 K and its general hue is white.

Exposure Triangle

The Exposure Triangle is widely used by photographers to refer to the three primary components of a camera system that a photographer adjusts to control exposure: aperture, ISO, and shutter speed. Aperture is adjusted by turning the innermost rig on the outside of the lens housing on a professional lens. A series of f-stop numbers are printed on the outside surface of the ring, indicating the size of the aperture. ISO describes a sensor's ability to respond to light. Shutter speed influences how motion is captured by the image sensor. A slower shutter speed is used when the subject motion is minimal, the light level is low, or when the photographer purposely wants to create a motion blur effect. A faster shutter speed is used when shooting fast-moving subjects, in settings with plenty of light, or when a photographer purposely is trying to freeze action without compromising image clarity.

Early television standards adopted a method of raster scanning called interlaced scanning to minimize both bandwidth use and flickering. Interlaced scanning reduces the bandwidth requirements of standard broadcast television by half compared to a progressively scanned image.

A graphic is any type of visual presentation that can be displayed on a physical surface such as a sheet of paper, wall, poster, blackboard, or computer monitor. An image is a two- or three-dimensional representation of a person, animal, object, or scene in the natural world. The difference between the two is that images are of the natural world and graphics are products of human imagination. A raster image uses pixels to define the structure of a digital image. It is formed by dividing the area of an image into a rectangular matrix of rows and columns comprised of pixels. Raster images are ideal for images with lots of color information and complexity. A vector image uses mathematically constructed paths to define a graphic's visual structure. Vector images are ideal for simple drawings, line art, clipart, and logos. Kearning and Leading

Kerning selectively varies the amount of space between a single pair of letters. Leading is used to define the amount of space between vertically adjacent lines of text. Kerning and Leading can improve the appearance and readability of text.

What is HTML?

HTML files are essentially just text files that can be used to label pieces of a document according to their functions. HTML lets you put tags (markup) around the text semantically, giving different parts meaning. There are three sections of an HTML document: declarations, head, and body. A "doctype" declaration is used at the top of the document. This code has to be exactly right for the browser to interpret the page correctly. The head in the document somewhat controls what the body does and most of it is invisible to the user. Information you want the user to see or code that directly controls how and where the information shows up is the body of the document. The HTML head content includes links to external style sheets, style information, metadata, links to other external script files, and tags that indicate which scripts are used in the body.
